MTG GOLD RUSH 2015

Gold rush is a situation in which people go to a place where gold has been found in hoping to find more gold and become rich. Planeswalkerly speaking, special thanks to Neutral Grounds, we will have our very own this weekend. And just in case someone is still unaware of it:

Gold Rush (Modern)

In my two previous articles, Misplay and A friendly reminder, I briefly discussed a few reminders for WMCQ with the aim of reducing, if not totally eliminate, misfortunes. And now that a titanic tournament is upon us this weekend, I am here again wishing you all a winning weekend.

Enumerated below are reminders that I hope will help you recall stuff for your Gold Rush 2015 campaign.

Read the Freaking Card (RTFC) before casting or activating it. I am pretty sure that most of us have this affinity wherein we just glance at the card’s illustration, added the fact that we’ve been using that card for months or even years to some, we tend to know everything on it. Only to get frustrated after its resolution.

Stacking. Please make this a habit that whenever someone is casting a spell; activating an ability; or there’s an enter the battlefield or whatever trigger ability there is being generated; spend a sufficient time in checking both graveyard, your hand and both board state. Then analyze if it will affect any cards before saying “Good” to it..

Tracking life changes is also an important part of the game. I would recommend having it by pen and paper. Also, it would be a big help to back track if there are some abbreviation right beside the life changes not just with your total but also with your opponent’s.

Lastly, if pitted in an uncomfortable situation with your opponent, never hesitate to call a judge for enlightenment on the issue.

There you have it people! I hope the force will be with you all this weekend! Always remember, paying a little heed in your every game scenario could lead to a disastrous end. Good Luck!
