Here are some of the important lessons that I can still recall. 
- Sequence properly your spells especially against Ledger Shredder. Kill the said bird first before summoning a discard spell. 

- I shouldn't have used Castle Lochwain in a situation where I had two cards in hand and my life points were at seven. 

- I had a lot of situations where the opponent had no cards in hand and at the same time, I had no The Rack on my side. And by the time The Rack reached my hand, the opponent already had enough cards in hand to avoid getting hit by my stuffy doll. 

- Amulet Titan simply rolled over the home team. 

- No artifact removal. I must have an artifact removal next time.

Game one: I lost the race to three Monastery Swiftspears, an Eidolon, and bolts. 

Games two and three: Urza's Saga fetching Elixir of Immortality, twice, won me the game. 

RD 2 Living End
The opponent simply responded by casting a Violent Outburst before my Go Blank resolves. 

RD 3 Glimpse Elemental Combo
Game three: The opponent was down to three life points when he top decked Violent Outburst into Glimpse of Tomorrow and was lucky to find a disenchant-creature that reads "comes into play destroy target The Rack". I was hoping to top deck another The Rack or its black enchantment sibling, but to no avail.

RD 4 UB Murktide
The opponent summoned the blue MH2 dragon on his second turn in both games. The opponent was able to do that because he had two fetchlands, a Thought Scour, cards milled off that blue instant card, and two Street Wraiths. Nice! I was not able to kill the dragon because it was well protected by counter spells. 

RD 5 Yorion Elementals
Game one: Wrench Mind and Raven's Crime versus Wrenn and Six is not a favorable game plan for the home team. 

Game two: The opponent has a turn two Chalice for one. My hand had a ton of one-casting cost discard spells. And by the time I started drawing Ensnaring Bridges, the opponent already had answers like Prismatic Ending and Teferi Time Raveler. 
  
I think the deck can win against today's meta. Looking back at those five games, I am pretty sure there were lines of play that if only I have enough experience with the deck, I could have won it. Because I still have faith in the deck and I need to gain more experience with it, I gave Eight-Racks another chance. I brought the same seventy-five to the next modern events.

RD 1 UWr Yorion Control
Early discard spells (Kozilek of Inquisition, Thoughtseizes, two Wrench Minds, and Raven's Crime's retrace ability) and Urza’s Saga fetching the deck's main win condition dictated the flow of the game. 

RD 2 Grix Death's Shadow
Ensnaring Bridge was already on the table but I needed to have an empty hand (because at that moment I had two cards in hand) or lose to a dash Ragavan (I was down to two life points). Then I top decked Wrench Mind; aimed it to myself, discard the two cards (Thoughsiezes) then pass the turn with no cards in hand. The opponent had a team consisting of 3/5 bird, 2/1 monkey, and a 7/7 Death's Shadow. Urza's Saga eventually fetched The Rack and it slowly ate his life points away. 

RD 3 Amulet Titan
Game three: I had no cards in hand and had the following on the table: two Ensnaring bridges, three The Racks effects, and eight Swamps. The opponent made sure he always has three to four cards in hand.

This is how the opponent won the game: top decked that 2/4 green nymph. Summoned it. Gave all lands every land type. Did a land drop for the turn (a bounce land and float its colors because he has an Amulet of Vigor on the table). Trigger two Valakuts, deals six. Returned the same bounce land. Land drop the same land via that green nymph’s ability. Valakut triggers a new, another six damage. Float the colors again. Used them to summon Asusa into two new extra land drops. Valakut killed me there. That was neat.

RD 1 Amulet Titan
The same third-round opponent from Madcap's event. But this time, I made sure he was not holding any relevant cards in hand. Bloodchief's Thirst controlled the population of his early construct tokens. Wrench Minds and multiple Raven's Crime via retrace casting cost plus The Rack effects won me the game.

RD 2 Rakdos Midrange
One casting cost discard spells, Go Blank, and Nihil Spellbomb were the key cards that controlled the opponent's tempo. Urza's Saga fetching The Rack won me the game. 

RD 3 UW Hammer
Game three: I think the opponent was thrown off his tempo because of three reasons: (i) used Funeral Charm's +2/-1 at his Inkmoth Nexus in response to the equip trigger of Sigarda's Aid; (ii) two Break the Ice cards destroyed his two Urza's Sagas; and (iii) casting Bontu's Last Reckoning to eliminate all of his creatures. Urza's Saga fetching The Rack won me the game. 
 
RD 4 UW Hammer
Discard spells such as Wrench Minds, Kozilek of Inquisitions, multiple usages of Raven's Crime's retrace, and Ensnaring Bridge dictated the tempo of the game. 

RD 5 Borus Burn  
The opponent mulled in both games. Mulled to four game one. Mulled to five in game two.  

I am pretty impressed with the performance of my six-Racks.

RD 1 Eldrazi Tron
Game one: Turn two Chalice for one caught me off guard. Luck me, most of my next draws were two to cast spells - Boros Charms, Atarka's Commands, Skewer the Critics, and Rift Bolt. 

Game two: Two Monastery Swiftspears plus Lava Spikes and Lightning Bolt dictated the tempo of the game.

RD 2 UR Murktide 
Game one: Eidolon blocked Murktide (thanks to Atarka's Command reach-giving ability) thus giving me one more turn which was enough for me to top deck Boros Charm and seal the game in my favor. 

Game two: I should have fetched for a boros colored shock land and not a gruul colored. This caused me to lose tempo speed because I am unable to summon Sanctifier En-Vec in my second turn. Fury soon single-handedly took care of my team. 

Game three: Archmage Charm, Counterspells, and Spell Pierces protected his red monkey all the way. Then bolt-snap-bolt at the end of my turn for the win. 

*I think in my last land drop, I should have just tapped the fetched shocked land because that two life points mattered in the end. 

RD 3 UR Murktide
Game one: My team got burned by his Unholy Heats and Lightning Bolts. The game ended quickly as soon as his blue dragon hit the table.

Game two: Swiftspear's prowess plus Eidolon's trigger ability won me game two.

Game three: The opponent was in his combat step when MTGO suddenly kicked me (or us both) out and when I get it back up, "MTGO is offline, scheduled for maintenance." Sad. Minutes after I tried logging back in and I got a loss. 

RD 4 URw Murktide
Game one: Two Monastery Swiftspears plus two Atarka's Commands dictated the phase of the game. I aimed my Lightning Bolts at his Ragavan and Dragon Rage Channeler.  

Game two: The opponent fetched for a Hallowed Fountain. White? For what? Teferi? Life-gain shenanigans? Boros Charm protected my one-drop team (Swiftspear and Guides) from the destruction that his Engineered Explosives brings.

RD 5 Mono Red Prowess
Game three: The opponent drew four good cards that fueled his team's offense from those two Light up the Stages.

RD 1 vs Jund
Game two: Two Eidolons hit play by turn three. Because of this, the opponent lost too many life points whenever he cast a spell. 

RD 2 vs Mono-Green Tron  
Game two: The round could have ended sooner if not for me committing misplay. I should have taken two damage off the Stomping Ground so that I could have paid Roiling Vortex's ability of him not gaining any life points. As a result, he gained five life points off the Thrugtasks entering the battlefield trigger.  

Game three: Roiling Vortex denied the opponent life gain from Thrugtask and a Wurmcoil. Top-decked Boros Charm for the win. 

RD 3 vs RG Prowess
Game one: Atarka's Command paired with a red battalion consisting of Goblin Guide, two Monastery Swiftspears, and an Eidolon won me the game.

Game three: Sanctifier En Vec is a house. Searing Blaze took care of his early beaters. 

RD 4 vs UR Murktide
Game three: Spot removals took care of my red army. The opponent's lone well protected by counter spells Ragavan won him the game. Drawing off the opposing library plus producing a "Lotus Petal" is really too strong for a one-drop card.

I had an alph the a strike at 03:20 mark in game two, but I did not go for it because of my defensive instinct tells me that the opponent has an instant cascade spell into another Living End. So I simply took the safer route. 

RD 2 vs. 8-Racks
I was unable to do the recording of this game because I did this on another laptop. And that laptop does not have any Xbox recording software on it.

Game one: The opponent had a ton of one-drop discard spells but had no spot or mass removals for my school. Svyelun of Sea and Sky plus Mutavault and Tide Shaper anchored the team to victory.

Game two: Subtlety and Tide Shaper took care of the opponent's early tempo plays. Kira, the Great-Glass Spinner and Svyelun Sea and Sky protected the school from spot removals. 

RD 3 vs Titan Wish 
Game three: 14 minutes left in my clock. Then the phone rings. I took the call. And because of it, I lost 8 mins. FCK! Then committed three errors. 

I do not think Spreading Seas plan is a good plan against them. 

RD 4 vs. Mono White Hammer
I lost in two games. Bad decision. I shouldn't have tappout. Inkmonth Nexus + hammer killed me. 

RD 5 vs Spy Vengevine
Game one: Situation: Spy on the stack. My hand had: 1 Force, 1 Adept, and 1 Subtlety. I pitched Force. He cast Pact of Negation to my Subtlety. Misjudgment on my end. 

Game two: I had no hate. I had no Force. I had no Subtlety. I thought lords can outrace. I was wrong. 

I really hate the timing of that call! 

To my frustration, I wasted no time enrolling to another modern league with the same list.

RD 1 vs Amulet Titan
Merfolk Trickster's ability was not enough to stop the 2/4 green nymph from giving every land type ability. 

RD 2 vs. UR Murktide
I got out-tempoed. I had seven merfolks. But the opponent had seven spot removals. Not to mention, he had the bird connivining every two turns for value. Also, I committed misclicks. 

RD 3 vs Grix Death's Shadow
Game one: The opponent had a turn one Ragavan. This dictated the tempo of the game. 
Game two: I won game two. 
Game three: Removals. The opposing deck had too many spot removals. I felt like they added more spot removals since July 10th.

RD 4 vs GB Yawgmoth 
Game three: Subtlety and Counterspell saved the day!

RD 5 vs RG Prowess
Game three: Three Monastery Swiftspears's prowess triggers + a Gutshot + Light up the Stage + 2 Manamorphoses + Dragon's Rage Channeler's surveil fixing was too much gas manipulation for the school to handle. 

Not a good day for my school. Moral lesson, do not play with a bad trip mood. That fcking phone call started this all!
