MODERN: WHACK GOBLINS

This was the list that I used for this event.

MTG SOUTHSIDE
19 January 2022

RD 1 Yorion Death and Taxes (win)
RD 2 Jund Lurrus (loss)
RD 3 Boros Burn (win)
RD 4 UW Miracle (win)
RD 5 UR Murktide DRC (win)

RD 1 vs. Yorion Death and Taxes
Goblin Grenades's reach won me the game.

RD 2 vs. Jund Lurrus
Game one: I kept a good seven: three lands and four creatures, one of them was Goblin Bushwhack. Sadly, I drew six straight lands after turn two.

Game two: The opponent was down to four life points when things shifted in his favor. It started when his construct token got to hold a Shadowspear and started gaining four. And to make it an uphill battle for the home team, I drew into another batch of lands, four straight Mountains.

RD 3 vs. Boros Burn
Game one: No whack, no problem because Foundry Street Denizens took over most of the early scoring. The final push came from Battle Cry Goblin's abilities <pump (+1/+0 and all goblins get haste) and token calling trigger>.

Game two: Searing Blazes, Eidolon of the Great Revel's trigger, and my own Ramunap Ruins (three ruins) ate most of my life points in this game.

Game three saw the battle of the Goblin Guides, the opponent had three Goblin Guides while I had two. My guides had the upper hand because they got helping hands from Signal Pest and bushwhackers.

RD 4 vs. UW Control
Game one: No Whack. Denizen, Guide, Legion Loyalist, and Battle Cry Goblin took charge of the offense. It was Goblin Grenade's reach that sealed the win in our favor.

Game two: The opponent was down to five when he started to control the game. It started when he exiled my Roiling Vortex (Primatic Ending). Then paid four mana into a flashed Solitude. And flashed in another Solitude, in the same manner, a turn after. I conceded when his life points returned to a safe distance.

Game three: The opponent was able to deal with my warrens. From Prismatic Ending to shark token to Supreme Verdict. What helped me win this round are the following: goblin tokens off the Mogg War Marshall and Roiling Vortex's one damage ping every upkeep. Win.

RD 5 vs. Murktide DRC
Game one: Denizen and Goblin Guide took care of the early offense. Lightning Bolts kept any blockers at bay. Goblin Bushwhacker gave the final push needed to capture that 1-0 lead.

Game two: The warren survived two Engineered Explosives onslaughts. The first Engineered Explosives was for the one-drop goblins. The second was for the tokens Mogg War Marshall and Battle Cry Goblin left behind. Eventually, my two-drop goblins plus a little push from bushwhackers carried the home team to victory.

That will be all for now folks. Stay safe wherever you are.

MODERN: WHACK GOBLINS

FNM at REGRAN
Quezon City
21 January 2022

This is the seventy-five that I used for this event.

RD 1 Bye (win)
RD 2 Esper Control (win)
RD 3 Jund Lurrus (win)
RD 4 Living End (loss)

RD 2 vs.Esper Control
The opponent had only two lands in our last game. Unable to cast any cards in his hands, and probably out of frustration, he simply conceded.

RD 3 vs. Jund Lurrus
Blood Moon dictated game three in favor of the home team. Win.

RD 4 vs. Living End
The opponent was down to three. And for the next three turns, I did not draw any Lightning Bolts or Goblin Grenade. Loss.

Thanks for reading.

By the way, in case you are interested, here are my other whack goblins tournament reports. Enjoy.
