-I should have had sequence my umbra auras well for better protection from the Wrath of the Skies.

-I failed to recognize the opponent's blocker despite me staring and doing combat math computations in my head for almost half a minute. 

-I should not have removed Leyline of Sanctity and Heroic Intervention.

It's been a while since I last shuffled my Whack Zoo in an in-store paper event. I added Amped Raptor in the sixty, and Static Prison in the 15. The results were not that impressive. I'll have to do a lot of playtesting to get that winning combination for this deck.

I wrote this more than a week ago. Thus I only remember one thing. My win versus the fifth-round opponent. I had turns where I bluffed, holding only two to three land cards.

Things that I can still recall from the event.

I think Floodpits Drowner's stun-giving ability is better than Merfolk Trickster's ability because (i) you'll feel the former's ability in two turns while the latter's only for a turn. And (ii) it can act as "removal", is better. 

Game three versus Living End, I decided to keep a six-hand of 2 Spreading Seas, 2 lands, 1 Tide Shaper, 1 Sink into Stupor. Thinking denying him his colors would be enough to delay him until Chalice of the Void and counters would reach my hand. I was correct in the delay part, but the cards I was wishing for did not come in time.  

Won two mirror match ups! Floodpit's Drowner. Mockingbird, and Dismember all played key roles. 

Mockingbird was great! Here are some of the situations where the copying jitsu of the Mockingbird's stood out. Master of the Pearl Trident (for islandwalk), Svyelun of Sea and Sky (for card advantage), Kira, Great Glass-Spinner (for school's protection), and Orcish Bowmaster (killing opponent's Orcish Bowmaster).  

4-2 landed 10th but still happy with the  school's performance.

After many failed attempts to join an event, I finally made it to Alpha Clash's August 24th Prelude event in High Market Cubao Quezon City!

I lost my third round because of my opponent's white cow and his contender combo. 

Round four was exciting. I though I'll have my first win in this TCG, but I was wrong. The opponent had that "gain life" card. 

It feels great I finally got to play Alpha Clash. 

I hope to do well in my next outing.

Here are some of the things that I can still recall. 

I had a lot of mis-sequenced spells vs UB Frog (second round). 

RW Energy is still too fast. 

I was no longer in competitive mode versus Glimpse combo. After losing to it, I left the venue.
