As Foretold Balance Deck W
GW Collected Company L
Mono Black Vampires W
Jeskai W
UB Tempo W

Notes

AS FORETOLD BALANCE DECK
Game 1: I think my key play against this deck during game one was when I countered the deck's main engine, As Foretold, with a Force of Negation. I won the game through a bunch of bear merfolks plus lord effects eventually won me the game.

Game two: I lost game two because he had another As Foretold card after I countered his first. As Foretold into Restore Balance, respond to its resolution sac all permanents to his Greater Gargadon. I concede immediately because I know what lies ahead .

Game three: I played in a very defensive manner for I know he can go off any time after turn three. So instead of being the aggressor, I was contented with Cursecatcher and a Merfolk Trickster doing three damages at a time. And by the time I reached four lands, hand with two Deprives and a Force of Negation as back-up, it was at this time that I decided to summoned a lord to help the duo hasten things up. My tactic worked. WIN!

GW COLLECTED COMPANY
I lost in two games. Game one, he had this line of play: Collected Company into two Stoneforge Mystic fetching Batterskull and Sword of Fire and Ice. He then played both next turn and equipped the sword to germ. The same thing happened in game two, but with Giver of Runes protecting his germ.

MONO BLACK VAMPIRES
I lost game one because he out tempoed my school. Gatekeeper of Malakir, Stromkirk Condemned, Fatal Push, Vampire Nocturnus, and Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord were the cards I can recall him using. I also had a misplay (sort of) during game one. I tapped Aether Vial (which had two counters on it) and bring down a Lord of the Atlantis without asking him. He immediately interrupted me that he wishes to respond to the artifact's ability. So I rewind a little until to the point of the tapping of the Aether Vial.

Games two and three, I played tight merfolk gaming. My defensive duo (Merfolk Trickster, and Harbinger of the Tides) led the school to victories! Picture below was taken when he tried to swing for the win. I bounced the biggest, Cordial Vampire. Scry for two at the end of his turn. Found a lord. Draw it for the turn. Vial it in. Swing for the win.

JESKAI
I have no idea what kind of URW he was on. Unfortunately, we had no game two because he had to go. Here is the video of our game one.

UB TEMPO
I think he was drawing bricks in both of our games. I never saw a lot of cards from him other than these: Island, Watery Grave, SpellStutter Sprites, Drown in the Loch, and Fatal Push

This is all for now. Thank you for reading! Stay safe everyone!

MAY 2020: FIRST VIDEO

Finally! I recorded my first online MTG game!

Here it is. Enjoy!

Well, it is not actually the whole game. It is just a part of game two wherein I was forced to combo-off. Luckily, I deck gave me the pieces of the puzzle.

I am so happy that I learned a something new today!

MAY 2020: MONO BLUE MERFOLK MODERN

17 May 2020
Untap-in
UWrg with Yorion L
GW Boogles W
ABZAN W

Notes:
UWrg with YORION
Game one: I ran him over with a school of fish with islandwalkers.

Game two: I keep a 4 land hand, a Cursecatcher, and two lords. I draw three straight lands.
Mystical Dispute is strong versus merfolk. Eventually, he was able to do the soft lock on me, Cryptic Command and Mystic Sanctuary. Then I expected this to end with Uro but, he used Scapeshift into Valakut and Mountains to force a rubber match.

Game three: He did a very job in playing defense by countering my blue cards (Mystical Dispute) and killing them with Lightning Bolts. His Uro played a critical role by giving him six life points and doing extra land drops for the turn. He then blasted me with Scapeshift into Valakuts and Mountains.

GW BOOGLES
Game one: Since my best defensive duo is sort of useless in this match up, it was a good thing that I added two Force of Negations and a Brazen Borrower into the main deck. I countered his tempo enchant-creatures, Ethereal Armor and Daybreak Coronet. And bounce the second Ethereal Armor.

Game two: I denied his Slippery Boogle of the following enchancers: Rancor, Ethereal Armor, and  Daybreak Coronet.

ABZAN
Game one: I had a misplay. I should have had let his Kitchen Finks tapped during the declare attackers step. Then summoned my Merfolk Trickster at the end of his declare attackers step so that it nullifies his Fink's persist ability. It was a very important point of the game because he was able to blink it twice with his Restoration Angel. Thus giving him enough cushion to out tempo my school.

Game two: With that misplay in mind, I did not let the same mistake happen again. I let his Finks swing. Called trickster. Turned off Fink's persist ability. And win from there.

Game three: Thassa is a house versus BG decks. WIN.

It's 12:30am here. I am a little sleepy now. Thank you for reading!

Untap.in

UG Kinnan Deck W
Mono Black Aggro W
Ubg Rogue Deck W
BUG Uro Deck W

Notes
I replaced Light up the Stage with Sprite Dragons. And I lessen by one the Tormod's Crypt (in the sideboard) and replaced it with a Disdainful Stroke

UG URO NISSA RAMP
Game two: He had the following in his turn three:  Three UG lands and a Llanowar Elves. He summoned a Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy. Dropped a Mox Amber. Tapped it for two mana then dropped his second Mox Amber tapped it as well for another two mana. Tapped elf for another two mana. Then a land for a total of seven mana. Into look top five cards off the library into Kogla, Titan Ape. Wow. He won the race.

Game three: I won the race with 3 one drop prowesses and a Sprite Dragon with Shocks and Wild Slashes backing them up.

MONO BLACK AGGRO
Game one: Spookie44 raged quit during my turn three because of this play: Swiftspear (1/2) plus prowess trigger off the Curious Obsession (2/3). Then the buff off the Obsession (3/4). Then the prowess off the Wild Slash (4/5). Then I let him know that I am attacking for four. He strongly argued "No! Only two" then I explained to him the whole situation. He then left the room. After a minute, I saw him waiting inside a new room. I entered it and dropped the entire explanation  again for him to read. Then left the room.

UBG ROGUE DECK
He had a bunch of rogue creatures.

BUG URO DECK
I won by two games. I had three prowess, all one drop, with back-up shocks and Wild Slashes. He kept a bad opening hand.

This is all for now. Thank you for reading.

Jeskai Control L
BW Aggro W
Mono White Aggro W
Rakdos Aggro W
Mono Red Chandra Deck L
Mono White Aggro W
UG Mutate Deck W
UW Control with Yorion L

Notes:
JESKAI CONTROL
This deck is a heavy control one. Counter spells, bounce, mass and spot removals, and gain life. His win condition is Dream Trawler. I lost in three games.

BW AGGRO
This deck is using knight and zombie creature cards. It gave me a good mental exercise on combat matters.

MONO WHITE AGGRO
Opponent left the room right after I won game one. The deck curved well.

RAKDOS AGGRO
The deck curved better than the opposing team. I won in three games.

MONO RED CHANDRA DECK
His deck abuses different kinds of Chandra Planewalkers and Heart of Kiran. I lost in three games because he drew better removals than I did.

MONO WHITE AGGRO
Game three: I did not swing my army the turn the Obosh came into the battlefield for maximum result. It turned to be a good move versus aggro decks.

UG MUTATE DECK
We only played one game. Then he left the room. I remember seeing Essence Symbiote, Glowstone Recluse, Sea Dasher Octopus, and Pollywog Symbiote.

UW CONTROL with YORION
He won 2-0. I do not think any red deck can win against that deck. The deck's core is focused on controlling the board state. Here are the cards that I can recall: Teferi, Hero of Dominaria, Supreme VerdictTeferi, Time Raveler, Elspeth Conquers Death, Omen of the Sea, Absorb, Elspeth Sun's Nemesis

This is all for now. Thank you for reading!

Always stay safe guys!

MAY 2020: MONO RED AGGRO PIONEER

8 MAY 2020
Untap.in

Artifact Base Deck W
Mono Blue Tempo W
RG Ramp W
Mono White Enchantments D
BUG W
GW Aggro L
Mono White Aggro W

Notes:
After a short stint with Izzet Wizards, I'll now try mono red.

ARTIFACT BASE DECK
I have no idea what his deck is all about. I just remember seeing a bunch of artifacts and colorless lands. I have no idea if I am correctly doing my sideboarding against this deck.

MONO BLUE TEMPO
Goblin Rabblemaster is a house. Bomat Courier helped in the spelling of victory because it replenished my hand into a full health. Obosh did a great job in pumping the damages from the unblocked odd casting cost creatures.

RG RAMP
Game three: I had the following on the table in my last turn: six mountains, Goblin Rabblemaster, three goblin tokens, one Soul-Scar Mage, and two Scab-Clan Berserker. Opponent's life points was at 12 (I think). I summoned Obosh, the Preypiercer from its compainion zone, and swing for the win. He only had the following on his table: two mana dorks which I killed one with Shock before swinging everybody.

MONO WHITE ENCHANTMENTS
I saw the following cards: Nyxborn Shieldmate, Hopeful Eidolon, Ethereal Armor, All that Glitters, and Sram Senior Edificer. We had no game three because he got disconnected.

BUG
I sure this is another Uru type BUG deck. Both games he drew bricks unfortunately. WIN.

GW AGGRO
My got kicked in this game by 0-2. His deck loves to toss counters all over his table. The cards that I can still recall were: Voice of Resurgence, Vivien Arrow Ranger, and Heliod, Sun-Crowned

MONO WHITE AGGRO
Game one: The deck curved well. turn one Bomat Courier. Two swiftspears by turn two. Turn three Rabblemaster. Turn four dino. And turn five Obosh. A turn after Obosh came, I fired Shock and Wild Slash. There was no game two for he left the game even before we could do sideboard.

This is the first time I used a companion. It does not feel like EDH. It feels like you are having an eight card for your opening hand. Obosh is better than Torbran, no doubt about that. Well, this is all for now. Thank you for reading.

Mono Green Aggro W
Death's Shadow with Lurrus W
Boros Burn with Lurrus W
BG Rock with Lurrus W

Notes:
MONO GREEN AGGRO
Game three: In my last turn, I go wide with nine water elemental tokens (3/2), from two Master of Waves, together with Mutavaults, Trickster, and Harbinger.

DEATH SHADOW with LURRUS
Game three: Vial into Harbinger (twice) bouncing his key creatures and tapping at the same time via Tricksters were the turning points of the game. I won using blue grizzly bears (Tricksters, Silvergills, Harbingers, and Mutavaults) swinging back and fourth.

BOROS BURN with LURRUS
Misplay: I should have end of turn Trickster his Lurrus of the Dream-Den then vial in Harbinger instead of countering his black cat.

Game two: I decided to keep this hand: Aether Vial, Island, Harbinger, two Lord of Atlantises, and two Force of Negations. I never drew my second land but on my succeeding draws were: Trident, Benthic, Tricksters, Kira, and other Lord of Atlantis. The Forces eventually saved me from his Helices

BG ROCK with LURRUS
Game one: Kira, the Great Glass-Spinner protected most of my school from opponent's Fatal Pushes and Assassin Trophies. Spreading Seas plus lord effects won me the game.

Game two: He had Abrupt Decays this time around to negate the protection Kira is giving my school. I soon lost my entire schools to his spot removals.

Game three: The combined effort of Spreading Seas + lords + Force of Negation and Deprive (denying him of spot removals) gave me the win.

This is all for now. Thanks for reading!

GW Collected with Lurrus L
RW Aggro with Zirda L
UR Storm W
ROCK with Lurrus W
Ponza W

Notes:
I am still using this seventy-five

GW COLLECTED with LURRUS
Game three: Despite me having two Deprive and tool box merfolks (Tricksters and Harbinger), he was able to assemble his combo piece still. I lost to his infinite mana combo ending it up with a Walking Ballista

RW AGGRO with ZIRDA
Game one: I decided to keep a one land (Mutavault) with vial but has a lot of two drops. I got my second land like after eighth turn. It was really a struggle. HE simply slow roll to victory ending up with Ballista and Heliod god combo.

Game two: Sword of Fire and Ice fried my school. His team has the following: Zirda, the Dawnwaker plus Walking Ballista plus Sword of Fire and Ice.

UR STORM
Game one and two: Spreading Seas denying him of red sources. Then Islandwalkers for the win.

ROCK with LURRUS
Game one: He got stuck at one land the entire game.

Game two: Timely Engineered Explosives buried alive my entire school. His lone Tarmogoyf finished me off in just two swings.

Game three: Timely defensive plays from Harbinger and Trickster plus the protection from Kira, the Great Glass-Spinner gave me the win.

PONZA
Game one: I had a turn one vial out. It turns out that he is on Ponza. I simply vial out all my school and win from there.

Game two: Timely counter spells, Force of Negation and Deprive, helped me turn the tide into my favor. Then the tandem of Spreading Seas plus lord effects won me the game.

UGR WHIR URZA
I got disconnected during the RUG Whir-Urza game. I was about to make a 14 point islandwalk swing when I got disconnected. Anyway, I had misplays here. First, I should have casted Tricksters first. Then vial-in Harbinger to bounce the fatter creature. Another misplay is that I forgot to untap my land off the Reejerey-Benthic Biomancer interaction. And lastly, I forgot to swing my Mutavault with the team during the first swing.

My connection is getting intermittent. This is all for now. Stay safe guys!

Thank you for reading.

MAY 2020: REVOLT NAYA ZOO MODERN

5 May 2020
Untap.in

Mono Red Prowess W
Affinity (Traditional) W
Hardened Scales W
Mono Green Aggro W
UW Whir Thopter with Yorion companion L

Notes:
MONO RED PROWESS
Game one: He won the roll and stared with Mountain into a Monastery Swiftspear. In my turn one, Wooded Foothills into Stomping Ground into Wild Nacatl. He had a turn two (another) Swiftspear and Lava Spike dealing a total of seven damages in that turn.

For my second turn, I dropped a fetch into Temple Garden, into Herbalist into Burning-Tree Emissary into Narnam then discard a Simian Spirit Guide into Reckless Bushwhacker. Turned everybody sideways. He simply offered that we go to game two.

Game two: My team was able to connect 11 damages by turn three but unable to finish the job for I had drawn three straight fetches.

Game three: 14 Damages on turn three. WIN.

AFFINITY (Traditional)
Game one: He almost won this game because he had Arcbound Ravager passing all its counter an Inkmoth Nexus. But unfortunately for him, I blocked it with a 1/1 Narnam, with a little help from Atarka's Command.

Game two: He tried burying my troop with two Whipflares but Boros Charm denied him of that. WIN.

HARDENED AFFINITY
I won two games. Both assault led by Reckless Bushwhacker  dealing 12 and 16 points respectively.

MONO GREEN AGGRO
Game three: Turn three 14 damages ignited by Hidden Herbalist putting him from 16 to 2. He simply took his last draw then concedes. WIN.

UW WHIR THOPTER with YORION companion
Game one: Engineered Explosives hampered my team a little, but just after a few turns we were able to recover and finish what we had started. Atarka's Command +1/+1 was the MVP.

Game two: I got a promising hand but unable to execute it well because I got stuck at two lands.

Game three: Reckless, Burning-Tree, Herbalist, Guide, Experiment one, Nacatl, and Misty. One land. I decided to keep. High risk, high reward. I got risk. It has been seven turns before the second land came. It was too late because he already had an infinited life through Urza-Thopter-Sword. GG

This is going to be all for today. I hope you're safe there! Stay at home!

UR Gifts Storm W
UR Urza Whir W
Affinity W
Through the Breach / Scapeshift L
Naya Burn L

Notes
BUG URO CONTROL
I won two games. Game one via Electrodominance for 10 with a copy from Ascension. And game two via 22 goblin tokens.

ESPER CONTROL
He established board state early. Ashiok and Teferi team-up to give him the win. My sideboard cards did not load in for game two. I lose game two in a similar way.

UR GIFTS STORM
Game one: Our life points were at him 18 and me at 16. Opponent started cascading spells on his fourth turn. Then he said, "Grapeshot you for 17." I pressed the alert button letting him know that I am going to respond to his sorcery storm card. I put on the table Quicken from my hand. He gave a thumbs up. I draw. Then presented my own Grapeshot. "19. All to you."

I got disconnected while I was in the process of sideboarding. It turns out that the plug of my modern was accidentally kicked by somebody.

UR Urza Whir
Game one: It was my last turn. I had an online Ascension and five lands. I started the turn with a Serum Vision. He responded with a Cryptic Command with the modes: counter-bounce. I responded with rituals into Electrodominance. WIN.

Game two: We find ourselves in a similar situation only this time I had a ritual as my bait spell. I responded with rituals, morphose, Thought Scour, Quicken, Past in Flames, recycle all instants into another Quicken before ending it with lethal Grapeshot. WIN

AFFINITY
Game one: Two ascensions are online by turn four and fireworks began to display a turn after.

Game two: Inkmoth Nexus carrying a Plating on her won him the game.

Game three: Turn two 10 goblin tokens. He had no answer. I won the race. WIN.

THROUGH THE BREACH / SCAPESHIFT
Game one: I thought along along that I am dealing with a regular Scapeshift. Then he took a turn, Through the Breach into Emrakul.

Game two: Turn two 12 tokens.  I win in two swings.

Game three: I started to draw brick (lands and rituals. I needed cantrip or Past in Flames) after Pyromancer Ascension went online.

NAYA BURN
Game one: Eidolons on turn two and three. GIZ.

Game two: Eidolon on turn two but I had a turn three Platinum. He had Destructive Revelry. GG.

This is all for now. I've been playing since ten in the morning until two in the afternoon. I feel a little exhausted. I'll play again later after dinner. Adios por ahora.

Boros Burn W
12 Racks W
Gr Tron W

Notes
It's been a while since my last stroll in the park with my zoo pets. So before going to bed I played three games with my Revolt Zoo.

BOROS BURN
I won two games. I hit him for 14 by third turn of game one. And for 11 by second turn in game two. Sweet game.

12 RACKS
We only had one game. He got disconnected during game two. I won game one because I had a second wave of troops headed by Reckless Bushwhacker.

Gr TRON
I won both games. Game one turn three dealing 15 lethal damage. Game two turn two 14 damage.

Hitting your opponent with 12 to 14 damages in one swing: what a rejuvenating feeling!

Than you for reading! Stay safe guys!
